Save Game Devs Rally

It's interesting to see things change so dramatically in the past 6 years in the gaming industry. Microsoft bought Bethesda Softworks parent company ZeniMax Media for $7.5 billion dollars. By acquiring their competition, Microsoft's Xbox brand could surf on the hit Bethesda gaming titles and reap more expansive library of games under their game pass. That bet has proven to be disastrous.

Microsoft announced a mass layoff in late June and there is real dread to what will come of the gaming industry as the very talent and engineering capacity of studios shrinks, the cost of the current late generation consoles increase significantly, and game development becomes too expensive. The workers at ZeniMax/Bethesda Games held a rally to do something about this uncertain future. One of the things these rallies do is that they help people see that they're not alone and importantly there is a community of solidarity. This was true for the Save The Post rally back in February 2026. It's true now.
